Plan Your Budget and Allow Yourself More

Plan Your Budget and Allow Yourself More

Posted on July 4, 2022 (July 4, 2022)

Does it always feel like your paycheck is too low and you deserve a better life? Start planning your spending and don’t let money slip away from you!

People mistakenly believe that they successfully manage their finances because they are able to cover basic obligations and needs, while leaving money for family as well. However, in a time of global or personal crisis, you must conclude that there are no savings and it is unclear how to effectively “tighten the reins.”

Learn the basics of budget planning so you can afford more and not worry about tomorrow. Check out these tips for effective budgeting!

Budget Planning Tips – 50/30/20 Law

Budgets can be planned in many different ways. One of the easiest is the 50/30/20 rule, which involves dividing your monthly income into three parts. Calculate your monthly income and divide it into 3 categories: 50%, 30%, and 20%.

50% for mandatory expenses: utilities, credit coverage, food, transportation, etc.

30% for other expenses: entertainment, clothing, hair salon, gym membership, etc.

20 percent for savings: retirement fund contributions, investments, savings and reaching specific goals.

A Month of Financial Starvation

This is an extreme but effective approach. It will allow you to realize after one month how much money you are spending unnecessarily. Don’t spend money on anything unnecessary during the month. Only mandatory monthly payments (rent, utilities, loan payments, etc.) and basic needs (food, transportation, hygiene items, etc.) are covered. Spend a month without Spotify Premium, coffee shop, sports club, coffee to go, etc.

Lethal, isn’t it? You don’t have to live like this all the time. Within a month, you’ll realize which “excesses” are really important to you and which you can do without. Saving and spending responsibly in the coming months is guaranteed! This financial fast month is recommended once a year.

Setting Financial Goals

Budget planning is best helped by having a realistic goal that we want to achieve. Not all goals need to be grandiose. If you don’t see the fruits of your labor in the short term, there is a risk that you will give up and “throw the gun into the bushes.” Set three goals:

  • What you want to accomplish in 3 months;
  • What you want to achieve in a year;
  • What you want to achieve in 5 years.

It is valuable if one of the goals is to create a safety cushion. If you know you can live without income for 3 months in a crisis situation, your sleep will be sweeter and your stress level will be lower.

If you have debts, one goal may be to pay them off in full, leaving only one convenient monthly payment. This can successfully be done by consolidating all of your loans. This way you can reduce your monthly payment and save on interest payments. Look for an offer where you can combine your loans with a 0% fee.

Also, try the budget planning tools of your bank. Choose the solution that suits you best!

Budget planning is an effective way to better manage your finances and make smarter decisions. Get started today!
