Coaches Nathan Asare and Drew Tyler trained 34 children from the SAGS Academy together with Imperial Bank Marble Junior Savings account holders aged 6 – 16 on football skills and techniques.
The coaching clinic is part of the Imperial Bank and Arsenal Football Club partnership which seeks to improve children’s individual skills and knowledge of the football game, whilst experiencing the unique Arsenal training and the camp atmosphere.
Arsenal Partner Service Executive, Mr. Alex Smith said that Arsenal is tapping on its huge Kenyan fan based to introduce “The Arsenal Way” of football.
“As one of the top football club worldwide, we believe that coaching the kids and introducing them to Arsenal’s ethics will encourage them to appreciate the game further,” said Mr. Smith.
Arsenal Soccer Coaching includes agility and fitness drills with and without the ball, passing and dribbling skills to increase players’ ball control and confidence. After intense drills players will be placed into competitive situations such as five-a-side games, positional plays and uneven teams.

“As a company, we are not only proud to be associated with the most entertaining club in the English Premier League, but also delighted to promote and develop football skills in Kenya,’’ Ms. Wachira said.
Ms. Wachira added that it is expected that the children will be able to develop their sports talent to represent the country in international tournaments.
