Founded in 1992 as a Finance and Securities Company, Imperial Bank converted into a fully fledged commercial bank in January 1996. Since then the bank has had a long standing tradition of achieving strong financial performance and carrying out expansion strategies while successfully focusing on efficient client service delivery.

Over the last 20 years, Imperial Bank has achieved a sustained growth in our customer deposit base which is largely attributed to the level of confidence our customers have in the bank and our corporate strategy. Currently we have 25 branches in our expanding branch network across major towns and cities.

At Imperial Bank, we don’t just sell financial products and services but we endeavor to provide choices, opportunities and solutions. With expertise derived from our highly experienced and innovative management team, we offer an extensive range of products and services that is customized to give your company value while meeting specific business needs. These products include: Corporate Relationship Banking, Cash management, Lending & Trade Finance Services, Treasury, Foreign exchange Management and Correspondent Banking Worldwide. In addition, the bank also provides various retail products like: Personal Savings Accounts, Marble Junior Savings Account, debit and credit cards. In addition, we are increasing our range of products to include Islamic Banking, Global money transfer among others.

We therefore commit a significant amount of our profits every year towards Corporate Social Responsibility. And for this continued efforts, Imperial Bank received the 2011 Millenium Development Goals – MDG Achievement Award which takes cognizance of the bank’s creativity and innovation in accelerating the achievement of MDG number 4.  This has been through our collaboration with UNICEF in the ‘Key in a donation’ ATMs fund raising campaign.

We are also proud winners of the FiRe Award (Excellence in Finance Reporting) on five occasions since 2002. This is an award that recognizes excellence in financial reporting, sound corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and environmental reporting. The year 2008 we were also awarded in our category for Best Bank in Kenya. 2009 we got the Best Bank in SME in the banking awards.

To maintain and further improve this positioning, we have established a Centralized Back Office Processing Unit so as to enhance service delivery to our customers while at the same time making it easier for them to access deposits and services through new delivery channels such as – Internet, ATMs, POS and mobile banking.
